julio nutt - lead master instructor
Originally from Venezuela, Julio was the top junior player in South America in the late 80’s when he won the South American Jr. Championship and finish as the top South American player at the Optimist Jr. World in San Diego at Torrey Pines, finishing in 8th place in 1989, then played Division I College Golf for Louisiana State University and represented his school 3 times at the NCAA National Championship (’92-’94).
After college, Julio continued his successful Amateur career representing his country in multiple international tournaments including a T4 finish at Tournament of Las Americas at the Doral Resort in 1996 and the 2000 World Cup in Berlin. Since 2002, Julio has turned his passion for Golf to teaching and helping others improve and enjoy their games. Julio Nutt has worked at the Jim McLean Golf School since 2007.
• Represented Venezuela in 6 South American Tournaments and 1 World Cup
• Played with a Golf Scholarship for LSU
• Won a professional tournament in Caracas after shooting 70 – 68 – 65 – 67
• Enjoys working with players of all levels while developing game improvement programs
• Fluent speaking English and Spanish
• Currently works with many college players and junior players who are preparing for college golf
