The primary goal of a custom wedge fitting is to find the optimal combination of wedges for your bag. Having the correct combination of lofts and lies will improve your scoring performance and reduce the yardage gaps for approach shots.

A custom wedge fitting will match loft, bounce, sole design, and club face spin to your specifications. Consistent yardage on approach shots will allow players to better capitalize on scoring opportunities. Custom grinding is also available.

$100 for a 1 Hour Session

For optimal results, Jim McLean Club Fitting recommends increasing your performance through custom fitted irons. Your irons are crucial in setting up scoring opportunities throughout a round of golf. Having correctly fitted irons will increase your accuracy, distance control, and shot making ability. The average golfer may use irons for 20% of the total shots in a typical round of golf and having the confidence in your equipment will make a world of difference in your scores!

$150 for a 1.5 Hour Session

Maximizing distance and accuracy are the main components involved in customizing your drivers, fairway woods, and hybrids. In customizing your clubs, our fitters will manipulate conditions associated with launch angle, back spin rate, ball speed, and side spin. This complete analysis will conclude with recommendations for different models of clubs, lofts, shaft flexes, and lengths.

$150 for a 2 Hour Session

Jim McLean Golf Schools use TrackmanTrackman

The Jim McLean Golf School at Doral has two systems of TrackMan™equipment, the world’s leading high tech accuracy interface that allows our fitters and instructors to have the best information about our students, this equipment allows us to provide a new level of service and performance.

TrackMan™ measures the full trajectory of any shot, ranging from short pitches to 400-yard drives and measures the landing position with an accuracy of 1 foot at 100 yards. TrackMan’s wealth of applications can be used indoor and outdoor.

Using TrackMan™ during tournaments takes live golf coverage to a higher level. TrackMan™ provides the broadcasters with actual shot data and ball flight trajectories, which gives commentators additional information to comment on. Instead of guessing where the ball is going, viewers can follow the entire trajectory live superimposed on a graphical representation of the golf hole and learn how the professional players manage the course.

Key benefits
• Show live real time 3D trajectory, while ball is in the air.
• Present accurate ball launch and ball flight data as well as trajectory. See TrackMan Data for details.
• Create player statistics.

From Monday to Wednesday nearly every week of the PGA, LPGA and European Tour seasons the world’s greatest players use TrackMan™. They test and tweak their clubs with it, practice approach shots, check gap fitting, or simply use it for shot analysis. During the majors, the PGA and R&A choose TrackMan™ to monitor player performance during the tournaments, while broadcast TV uses it to add value to their coverage.

TrackMan rated as no. 1 coolest thing at PGA Show (Jan 08)
TrackMan was rated as the coolest thing during the PGA Show 2008. PGA.com writer Jack Berry chose the following words for TrackMan: “The TrackMan launch monitor system also has experienced rapid growth after being utilized at the 2007 British Open and then with a Nick Faldo demonstration on Golf Channel during the PGA TOUR's Hawaiian swing.”

Jim McLean Golf School using Trackman DataTrackMan™ Data:

Club Speed:
Club speed measured just before impact. Club speed varies a lot between the different tour players. Tiger Woods is among the players with the highest driver club speed - averaging around 124 mph. The Tour Pro Average is 113 mph for a Driver and 95 mph for a 5 iron.

Vertical Swing Plane:
The angle of the swing plane of the club head seen from ground and up. A high value is a steep swing plane - Low value is a flat swing plane. The primary goal is to have a consistent vertical swing plane. Tour Pro Average with the Driver is 48 degrees

Horizontal Swing Plane:
The swing plane of the club head - seen from above. Orientation left/ right measured in relation to the target Line. Positive value means swing plane orientation toward the right (inside/out for right handed player) and a negative value means orientation towards the left (outside/in).

Attack Angle:
The angle with which the club head is "attacking" the ball just before impact - measured in relation to ground level. Negative value is hitting down on the ball, and positive is hitting up on the ball. This is a very important number for club fitters.

Dynamic Loft:
The dynamic or effective loft of the club at the point of impact on the club face - calculated relative to vertical. When hitting down on the ball, the dynamic loft will normally be less than the static loft of the club.

Club Path:
The club head path measured at impact. Positive value if club head is moving to the right (inside/out for right handed player) and negative value is a club head moving to the left through impact. A shot with a Club Path value between -1 to +1 degree is considered to be straight towards the target.

Face Angle:
The club head angle calculated at impact on the club face relative to the target line. A positive value if the the Club head is open at impact.

Ball Speed:
Ball speed measured just after impact. A high ball speed is primarily generated from a high club speed. However, the impact location on the club, the dynamic loft, and the attack angle also play a role in producing the ball speed.

Spin Rate:
The launch spin measured just after impact. Spin is of major importance for the carry distance and launch angle for high speed shots - a drive in particular. To maximize the driving distance a combination of high launch angle and low spin is needed.

Smash Factor:
Ball speed divided by Club speed. It represents the ability to transfer power from the club to the ball. 1.48 is maximum for a driver (COR regulated)

Spin Axis:
The spin axis is the axis around which the ball is spinning. The tilting of the axis dictates if the ball will draw or fade. The value is +/- in degrees relative to the horizon. Positive value when the ball is going right - and negative when it's going left.

Vertical Launch Angle:
The launch angle measuered just after impact in relation to the horizon. The optimal launch angle for a driver is individual for each player and is primarily dictated by club speed and attack angle. The TrackMan driver fitting application takes the mystery out of finding the optimal launch angle for each palyer.

Horizontal Launch Angle:
The launch angle measured just after impact in relation to target line.

Maximum Height:
The measured maximum height of the ball during the ball flight. The height of golf shots are more or less the same for every club in the bag.

Landing Angle:
The measured landing angle in relation to the horizon. Keep it below 40 degrees for a driver. Get it higher than 55 degrees for control on approach shots. Tour Pro average - Driver 39 degrees.

Carry:
The carry - measured to same level as launch (carry flat). Tour Pro Average - Driver: 262 yds

Carry Side:
The carry side - measured in relation to target line

Total distance:
equals carry plus calculated bounce and roll.

Total Side:
The total side (left or right) calculated in relation to target line.
