Course Requirements
The Jim McLean Golf School is offering an opportunity to a select group of golf professionals to become certified in the Jim McLean Teaching System.  The JMGS is regarded as the top golf instruction provider in the world. This reputation can be attributed to the school’s 20 years of providing world class teaching to all levels of golfers along with Jim McLean’s constant pursuit of excellence and the high standards he demands from all his instructors.   The JMGS Staff Training program is a reflection of this excellence and is renowned for its thoroughness and ability to consistently produce first class teaching professionals.  Now there is a chance for professionals from around the globe who share this commitment to become certified in The Jim McLean Teaching System.

For acceptance, candidates will need to submit the following materials to Chris Toulson, the Corporate Director of Instruction for the Jim McLean Golf Schools:

• A DVD or emailed video containing the candidate’s golf swing and a brief monologue on their teaching aspirations.
• Professional Resume
• Three letters of recommendation by PGA Golf Professionals.
If accepted, the candidate will be invited to attend the three week certification program at the JMGS at The Doral Resort and Spa, Miami, FL.  The curriculum consists of the following:
• Complete the JM written certification test.
• Conduct two research swing studies using our school’s database of tour swings.
• Give a presentation of your research findings at a JMGS Staff Meeting and submit written reports of your research.
• Observe a minimum of 20 private lessons and submit written reports on each lesson.
• Observe a minimum of two golf schools and submit a written report on each school.
• Give a golf lesson while being observed by the Director of Instruction.  Feedback and critiquing will be provided.
• Present a detailed explanation on video of each step in Jim McLean’s The 8 Step Swing.
• Pass an oral examination given by the Director of Instruction.
• Candidates will have full access to our school facilities and instructors during their three week certification period. 

Candidates will be responsible for all traveling and living costs associated with their stay at Doral.  Training materials (books and DVDs) will be provided at 50% off the retail price. Our school can provide you with discounted room rates at the Doral Resort and other area hotels along with reduced rates for golf at Doral.  The tuition investment for this program is $2,850.00.
