How to Film:
Filming your golf swing the right way is very important. We use tour player clips for our teaching that have been filmed the same way for decades. The more detail and precision you can put into filming the better. Follow these simple steps for consistency and the best lesson experience possible.
Down the Line view:
-Have the camera on the ball's target line about 8-10 yards behind the ball at chest height. Imagine a line extending from your camera, through the ball, all the way to your target. This is the ideal spot for the camera to be at. Please take the time to fill in the comment box what your target was for our added knowledge. This will be next to where you upload your video. The image on the right is a good example of how you should look on the camera.
Face-on view:
-The camera should be at a 90 degree angle to your target line. Note: this does not necessarily mean that the camera is perpendicular to your body. An easy way to ensure accuracy is to make a T-square with two clubs and get your camera set to that. Stand far enough away that with the camera at chest height the entire club motion is visible throughout the swing. The image on the left is a good example of how you should look on the camera.
Use a tripod if available. If not try to keep the camera as still as possible.
You can upload a maximum of 4 different videos clips. If you have a specific club that needs attention please film yourself hitting shots with that. Generally we use a driver for tee shots, 7-iron for irons shots, and whatever club you hit a 30 yard pitch shot with.
How to Upload:
Once you have purchased the lesson you will be ready to upload your videos. Plug your camera, smartphone, or tablet into your computer. Note: you will still need to upload through your computer if you filmed with an iPad or iPhone. Click the browse button and a window will pop up. Navigate to your device and select the desired video clip. You will see your video clip title appear indicating that it uploaded and will be sent to us. Upload up to four video clips, fill in the descriptions of each clip, and click submit. Your clips with then be sent to the instructor you picked and he or she will prepare your online lesson. Once complete the instructor will submit the lesson and you will receive an e-mail indicating that it is ready to be viewed. Enjoy your lesson on your computer or mobile device.
